2025 Workshop
2025 International Net-Zero Workshop
Sept 22–25, 2025
Illinois Sustainable Technology Center
1 Hazelwood Drive
Champaign, Illinois 61820
This year’s workshop will focus on highlighting the advantages of certain business models over those reliant on Government subsidies and funding, the pros and cons of various business enterprises in the decarbonization industry, and how these business models can be adapted to the AI/Data Centers/Energy nexus market. Further, we will focus on how best to bring together disparate industries in a fashion that provides a strong value proposition for all involved. Structuring the appropriate business model and financing will be critical factors discussed, as well as sharing opportunities for investment in projects. Public/private partnerships continue to be vital to the success of these projects. Global coordination amongst related projects mitigates risks and increases the ability of these projects to achieve Financial Investment Decisions (FIDs). The formation of a global network dedicated to achieving these goals has already taken shape, and the opportunity for additional regions to join this network will also be discussed. There will also be opportunities to visit projects in Central Illinois that illustrate how these business structures are being developed.
